Harley’s Limited, a leading distributor of pharmaceutical, surgical, and non-pharmaceutical products in East Africa, is seeking a Category Coordinator to join its dynamic Commercial team. This role, equivalent to that of a Business Development Executive, plays a key role in executing strategic commercial plans for one of our growing portfolios.
As a Category Coordinator, you will support the Category Manager (Business Development Manager) and the Head of Business Unit (Director Commercial) in meeting revenue, growth, and operational goals. You will be instrumental in providing accurate and timely reports on stock levels, sales performance, market forecasts, and investment performance. Your insights will help shape brand strategies and influence high-impact commercial decisions.

- Business Reporting & Insights: Prepare and share accurate, timely reports on sales performance, stock levels, forecasts and investments. Support internal and external reviews with clear, data-driven presentations.
- Commercial Operations Support: Assist in the execution of category and business plans. Track sales vs. targets and provide commercial insights to support revenue growth and portfolio performance.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with sales, supply chain, procurement and finance teams to ensure seamless flow of information and alignment on operational priorities.
- Compliance & Operational Excellence: Ensure adherence to company policies, governance framework, SOPs and Quality Management System (QMS) standards in all processes, reporting and communications.
- Market Intelligence & Strategy Support: Collect and analyse market and competitor data through collaboration with the salesforce. Support development of strategic initiatives such as pricing reviews and counteraction plans.
- A diploma and/or bachelor’s degree in a business- or science-related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a commercial, business development or sales analytics role.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills; proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Sage).
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Self-driven, organized and capable of working in a high-performance environment.
- Experience in healthcare or FMCG sectors will be an advantage.
