We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Procurement Officer to join our team in Mombasa. The ideal candidate will be a strong negotiator with deep knowledge of procurement procedures, especially within the international NGO sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the procurement process in compliance with organizational and donor policies (particularly USAID).
• Prepare and issue requests for quotations (RFQs), evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts.
• Maintain a transparent and auditable procurement system, including supplier records.
• Work closely with departments to forecast procurement needs and ensure timely delivery.
• Oversee vendor selection, contract management, and performance evaluation.
• Ensure adherence to all procurement standards and ethical guidelines.
• Provide technical guidance to ensure value for money in all procurement activities.
• Maintain updated knowledge of local market conditions and supplier availability.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or a related field. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably within an international NGO.
• Strong knowledge of USAID and other donor procurement regulations is highly desirable.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in procurement systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Membership in a recognized professional procurement body (e.g., KISM, CIPS) is required.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
