Dimkes DT Sacco
The
Branch Manager shall lead the branch team to grow the business and manage
business relationships while ensuring efficient, effective service delivery and
optimal utilization of resources at the branch. The role holder carries profit
and loss responsibility for the branch as a business unit as guided by the
strategic plan and annual budgets.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth &
Retention % Weighting: 50%
- Develop and implement branch business
strategy and sales plans to ensure achievement of branch targets in line
with the Sacco Corporate Strategy.
- Grow the branch membership and drive deposit
mobilization through aggressive marketing and business development.
- Drive enrolment and utilization of Alternate
Banking Channels as per set targets.
- Implement the credit policy under guidance
of the Head of Credit to oversee effective credit cycle management and
ensure branch profitability through loan book growth while managing credit
risk.
- Effectively manage key business
relationships to grow and retain high value business at the branch.
- Grow the Dimsure Sacco Assurance business by
actively marketing and selling its products and services to new and
existing members.
Branch Operations and Control. % Weighting: 30%
- Supervise the implementation of the Sacco
Operations Policy in delivery of service to customers while effectively
managing operational risk under the guidance of the Head of Operations.
- Ensure member satisfaction and retention
through anticipating their needs and promptly responding to their
enquiries and resolving complaints.
- Ensure growth of non-funded income through
collection of all fees and commissions when due.
- Ensure proper due diligence on KYC is
conducted on all customer accounts to effectively manage AML/CFT risks at
the branch level.
- Ensure the safekeeping of Branch assets
including structures, equipment, inventory and cash.
- Authorize payments up to approved limits to
keep operational expenses within budget.
- Ensure accurate and timely performance and
operations reports are submitted to the relevant recipients.
- Ensure all audit issues are addressed
promptly.
Team Leadership. % Weighting: 20%
- Provide leadership and guidance to the
branch team through effective planning, communication, training, mentoring
and coaching.
- Establish and maintain a working environment
that fosters a culture of teamwork, employee empowerment and pursuit of
excellence in service to members while maintaining a high commitment to
the SACCOs goals.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of all
branch staff, prepare performance appraisals and recommend and/or initiate
corrective action where necessary to improve employee performance.
- Effective resource management and ensuring
safety of staff at all times.
- Leading by example, ensure adherence to
integrity and high ethical standards and maintaining all staff discipline
in the branch.
Ideal Job Holder Specifications
Academic
- Bachelor’s
degree in a business-related field or social sciences.
Professional
- An
accounting, credit or risk-related professional qualification is an added
advantage.
Desired Work Experience
- At least 5
years of branch experience in a DT-Sacco, Commercial bank or a
Microfinance bank, and 2 of which must be in branch management/supervisory
role.
