Job Description :
Key Responsibilities
• Support the integration of gender and inclusion across all CR programme departments, including Cross-regional programmes.
• Provide tailored technical guidance and hands-on support to CR teams and partners, particularly those implementing donor-funded projects with gender-responsive or transformative outcomes.
• Facilitate gender-sensitive conflict analysis and training for staff and partners in diverse conflict settings.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the UK and across Africa to ensure consistency, learning, and quality assurance in gender integration work.
• Support fundraising efforts and contribute to the design and implementation of gender-inclusive programmes.
• Represent CR at external meetings, including with donors and stakeholders, to share learning and advocate for gender and peacebuilding issues.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in integrating gender and inclusion into peacebuilding in conflict-affected areas.
• Strong knowledge of peacebuilding strategies and gender-transformative programming.
• Proven ability to design and deliver trainings and facilitate participatory processes.
• Demonstrated success in programme design, donor engagement, and fundraising.
• Skilled in conflict and gender analysis and translating findings into actionable recommendations.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage diverse workloads in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with stakeholders from diverse cultural and political backgrounds.
• Strong presentation and communication skills, especially in verbal and written English.
• Willingness to travel, including to conflict-affected areas, and undergo hostile environment training.
• Must have the legal right to live and work in Kenya.
Desirable Attributes
• French language proficiency (spoken and written).
• Knowledge of Women, Peace and Security (WPS) policy frameworks and debates, especially within Africa.
• Experience in advocacy, especially around WPS and gender in peacebuilding.
• Prior work in CR’s programme regions (Horn of Africa, Central Africa, West Africa).
• Practical experience conducting gender-focused research in peacebuilding.
